Literature Text
we collided like poetry, i dip fingers
into memories like honey gold tinged and
smelling of thyme - time passes and i roll
your kisses around in my mouth, you tasted
like cough drops and summer-sweat days
Literature
sappho.
imagine
a city that sings.
imagine a restless night,
a rain-washed sky, a
little cafe on the corner.
and there you are,
college-age sappho
penning poems in a
macbook, blue jeans
ripped at the knee.
neon light flickers.
your fingers dance,
your feet tap to the
rhythm on the radio,
your eyes are far away.
your shoulder blades
cast shadows on your
stardust-freckled skin.
you are lost in poetry.
you are beautiful
beyond words.
Literature
liii.
while i sit in my crumpled shirt,
naked legs and bleached underwear
i ponder about silence and solitude
along with the brotherhood they share
they were the flat lines in heart monitors,
the shooting stars that happen behind your back
the budding flowers and sleeping children
the world that happens while you sleep
and like the ticking of the clock
they bear a loneliness
that was either too loud or unnoticed
Literature
stellatarum
we shared a kiss so green it flourished
under the mantle of stars and
i've never felt so whole, or so undone.
an unrelenting passage of time had
kept us apart, not unlike the waves
that separate the shores.
but now there is honeysuckle and
wildflowers where our pale shadows touch,
overlapping limbs causing murmurations
and gooseflesh that could rival mountains.
together we are boundless like
howls echoing in the fallen snow,
the birch-whites of eyes,
and evening midwinter fires.
we are embers in the twilight, circling,
addressing the other as
age-old paramours.
